Powerstroke Diagnostics

Stop Guessing. Diagnose the Truck.

Diesel repair gets expensive fast when parts are replaced without confirming the underlying failure. We test first.

Parts Cannons Are Expensive

A trouble code tells you which circuit or system reported a problem. It does not tell you which component failed, or why. On a Powerstroke, the same code can come from a sensor, wiring, a mechanical fault, a fuel quality issue, or a previous repair that was never finished correctly.

That's why we start with testing: live data, pressure and flow measurements, electrical testing at the connector, and a physical inspection of the systems involved in your specific complaint.

When we're done, you get findings in plain language — what was tested, what the readings were, what we believe failed, and what repair we recommend. You approve before anything is replaced.

If further teardown is needed to confirm a fault, we tell you that up front rather than quietly adding hours.

  • Check engine light
  • Rough running
  • Fuel system issues
  • Injector concerns
  • Turbocharger concerns
  • Coolant loss

What a Diagnostic Appointment Includes

  1. 01

A conversation about the symptom: when it happens, how often, hot or cold, and what's already been replaced.

  2. 02

Scan of all modules, stored and pending codes, plus freeze frame and live data relevant to the complaint.

  3. 03

Targeted physical testing — pressures, flow, electrical values, leak checks — on the systems the data points to.

  4. 04

A written recommendation with findings, pricing and priority, so you can decide what gets repaired now.

Diagnostic Questions

Why pay for diagnostics instead of just replacing the part?

Diesel components are expensive. Replacing an injector set, a turbo or a high-pressure pump on a guess can cost thousands and still leave the original fault in the truck. Testing first is almost always the cheaper path.

How long does a Powerstroke diagnostic take?

It depends on the complaint. A stored code with a clear symptom is quick; an intermittent electrical fault or a no-start with multiple contributing systems takes longer. We tell you what we've found and what further testing would cost before we continue.

Can you diagnose a truck that won't run at all?

Yes. No-start and crank-no-start trucks are a large part of what we do. Call before towing so we can plan bay space.

Do you apply the diagnostic charge to the repair?

Talk to us when you book — we'll explain exactly how diagnostic time and repair pricing work on your specific concern before any work starts.
